Fire damages garage

WALLA WALLA – A detached garage was damaged Friday morning on the 700 block of North Seventh Avenue. When firefighters arrived shortly after 4 a.m., flames were coming from the side of the garage located about 30 feet from a residence.

After confirming all occupants were safely out of the home, firefighters went to work to gain access to the garage and extinguish the fire. Firefighters had the fire under control in about 20 minutes. The fire did not spread to any other structures.

Damage is estimated at $16,500 and the cause is undetermined. There were no injuries to firefighters or occupants.
