Fire contained, missing person located near Prairie City

PRAIRIE CITY – According to a press release from Grant County Sheriff Todd McKinley, late Saturday night, a small forest fire was reported in the Dixie Creek area along with an associated missing intoxicated female. Wildcad.net reports that the Buck Fire was on a ridge just west of Buck Gulch.
Sheriff McKinley reports, “The fire was located, and the Oregon Department of Forestry took action on it. The blaze was confined to a large stump and its root system. The missing female and her three dogs were later located by family.”
The Sheriff said this incident is under investigation.
