Update as of 10:30am: Ziply is working to restore service after this morning’s fire and hope to have full restoration by 5pm.
Baker County Dispatch received a report of a fire behind the old Baker City Safeway location just before 2am this morning. According to reports, the Baker City Fire Department, Baker Rural Fire District and Keating Rural Fire District responded and extinguished the fire. No further details have been released at this time.
Ziply lines were damaged in the fire which is causing a large outage in the area, Crews are working to repair the damaged lines and restore service as soon as possible.
