PORTLAND – The 2024 Hidden Bottle Hunt will be held July 3-7 across Oregon. Sponsored by the Oregon Beverage Recycling Cooperative, the parent organization for BottleDrop, is now in its fourth year.
A single bottle is located in each of six districts. Each day of the hunt, clues are posted on BottleDrop’s website. (See map.)
This year the bottle’s design was crowd sourced from previous participants in the hunt. Organizers say it was inspired by the sunsets seen off the Oregon Coast. The person who finds the bottle gets to keep it and choose a nonprofit organization to receive a $1,000 donation through the Containers for Change program.
The hunt for the bottle is to commemorate Oregon’s first-in-the-nation Bottle Bill. The clues for the location of each bottle can be found from July 3-7 by registering at https://bottledrop.com/hunt/.
