Final Day to Register for Oregon Special District Elections is April 25

OREGON – The Oregon Secretary of State’s Office would like to remind Oregonians that Tuesday, April 25, is the cutoff date to register to vote for May 16 Special District Elections. As stated in a recent press release:

“On May 16, 2023, all counties in Oregon will hold an election. May elections in odd numbered years select representatives for local districts such as school boards, water districts or transportation districts. ​The voter registration deadline for the May 16 election is April 25.”

For Oregonians new or unfamiliar with the voting process, the state legislater has provided the following and information:

  1. Check your voter registration status by April 25. If you’ve moved, changed your name, or been released from custody, you may need to update your information online. If you’re not registered, you can register online
  2. Learn about voting in Oregon. We have resources for students, military/overseas voters, voters with disabilities and more at Oregonvotes.gov.
  3. Vote by May 16! Make your choices and return your ballot:
    1. Drop your ballot back in the mail, no postage necessary
    1. Use an official drop site
    1. Visit your county elections office to drop off your ballot or vote in-person
