LACEY – Gov. Bob Ferguson has announced a $2.1 billion plan for transportation infrastructure investments in Washington state, focusing on road and bridge preservation without increasing taxes.

If the Washington Legislature approves it, this would be the largest investment in preservation in 20 years. The proposal includes $1.1 billion for bridges, $164 million for paving projects this summer, and $756 million for paving over the next decade. It also allocates $160 million for other infrastructure projects, like slope control in mountainous areas prone to landslides.

The funding, aimed at addressing needs from severe storms, will be sourced from existing revenues through bipartisan support.
