FEMA grant finally gets moving for Grant County Courthouse

CANYON CITY – Grant County Emergency Management Coordinator Eric Bush informed KJDY’s Coffee Time listeners yesterday that finally, after over two years, progress is being made on a federal grant application to assess the structural integrity of the Grant County Courthouse. Bush said he applied for the grant back in November of 2021:

“We’re just now getting movement from FEMA on that grant, two years later. So, we haven’t gotten it yet. We’re excited about it. A lot of things happen in the interim—prices change; costs change, and so then you’re going back and you’re redoing a lot of the work you did a couple of years prior. That’s all part of the process.”
