MALHEUR COUNTY — While it’s springtime and fire danger is seemingly low, community partners and fire managers are preparing for what could be another devastating season this summer. The Malheur County Community Wildfire Preparedness Plan is under review by officials at the county level, local fire agencies, and the Bureau of Land Management.

The agencies are wishing to inform the public on the plan, as well as get feedback at a workshop in April. Community Wildfire Preparedness Planning officials will be at the Vale ESD Building on April 23rd at 6 p.m.to discuss the plan’s update and current status, as well as to cover topics like wildfire mitigation and hardening your property to be fire resistant.

Contact Malheur County Emergency Management for further information.
