Favorable conditions allow for burning on the Malheur National Forest

JOHN DAY, PRAIRIE CITY & HINES, OR – Several units are undergoing prescribed burn treatments this week, according to information from the Malheur National Forest.

On the Blue Mountain Ranger District, burning is underway at Indian Creek Campground, as well as the Big Mosquito Project area off the 2090 road..

For the Prairie City Ranger District, burning continues in the Crane Prairie and Summit Prairie areas.

Lastly, crews on the Emigrant Creek Ranger District are burning in the Wolf A unit, off the 1560/1540 road.
