BAKER COUNTY – (Release from OSP) On Saturday, December 11, 2021 at approximately 11:38 AM, Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a single vehicle crash on Highway 26 near milepost 202.
Preliminary investigation revealed an eastbound Ford Excursion, operated by Maureen Welsh (69) of Harper, failed to negotiate a corner, left the roadway and impacted a tree.
Welsh sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased.
Hwy 26 was partially closed for 7 hours.
OSP was assisted by Grant County Sheriff’s Office, John Day Ambulance and ODOT.
