Fatal crash claims life of Walla Walla man

COLLEGE PLACE – Alexis Delatorre, 23, of Walla Walla died following a two-vehicle collision at 10:01 a.m. Wednesday in the area of State Route 125 and Commercial Drive. He was struck by another vehicle driven by Teddy A. Kujawski, 45, of Dixie. Both vehicles were totaled.
The Washington State Patrol said Kujawski was northbound on State Route 125 approaching Commercial Drive when his 2003 Dodge Dakota pickup crossed into the southbound lane and collided with Delatorre’s 2020 Nissan Versa sedan.
Delatorre died at the scene. Kujawski was injured and transported to Providence St. Mary Medical Center.
Troopers said charges are pending against Kujawski and that it is unknown if drugs or alcohol were involved. The cause of the collision is under investigation.
