NYSSA — A family of six was tragically displaced following a house fire that occurred in Nyssa on March 24th. The Nyssa Fire Department responded to the structure fire on Clark Boulevard.
NFD personnel stated the fire was caused by an escaped debris burn. No injuries were reported, however, the house and all of its contents are considered a total loss. The incident displaced two adults and four children. Nyssa Fire Department was able to utilize its “burnout fund” to provide temporary aid and shelter for the family.
Officials stated, “NFD would like to thank the following agencies for the continued help and assistance…Nyssa Fire Department, Ontario Oregon Fire & Rescue, Fruitland Fire Department, New Plymouth Fire Protection District, Vale Fire and Ambulance Auxiliary, Treasure Valley Paramedics and Malheur County Sheriff’s Office.”
