EASTERN OREGON – According to the National Weather Service, triple digit temperatures will plague our region beginning this weekend and lingering most of next week. Temperatures could reach as high as 110 in some locations, breaking records. Be cautious if you work or play outdoors, extreme heat can significantly increase the potential for heat related illnesses.
In a related note, the La Grande Police Department has been receiving numerous call of dogs being left in vehicles. During warm or hot weather vehicle interiors can reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.
