WALLA WALLA – Walla Walla County has received a $897,000 grant from the Washington State Department of Archaeology and Historic Preservation to restore the front exterior of the courthouse, focusing on granite and terracotta elements.
The project will involve replacing broken items, repairing cracks, and more. Scaffolding will be set up across the courthouse and the front windows will be blocked off to protect the glass from damage.
Although some sidewalks may be affected, the single point of entry to the courthouse should not be impacted.
The work is expected to be completed in phases, with the first phase lasting until early summer 2025.
