Excavation of Second Street continues

La Grande – (Information provided by La Grande Public Works) The Second Street (Adams Avenue to Spring Avenue) reconstruction project has reached the next stage of traffic control. The intersection of Second Street and Washington Avenue is now closed. Crews will continue the excavation of Second Street through the intersection and then delay excavating through the final flock until next week. The block of Second Street from Washington Avenue to Main Avenue will remain open for local traffic, but the intersection at Washington Avenue will be closed. The construction detour on Second Street (headed south) will be moved back to the intersection of Second Street and Adams Avenue.
Second Street will continue to be closed to through traffic for the duration of the project, so plan on alternative routes for your commute for the next few months. Adams Avenue will remain open during the project. Please contact La Grande Public Works at (541) 962-1325 with any questions.
