Every Day Matters program receives praise in Grant County

JOHN DAY – Grant County ESD Superintendent Robert Waltenburg was on KJDY’s Coffee Time recently and mentioned the Every Day Matters program, dedicated to battling chronic absenteeism in our local schools. He said the rewards system for attendance seems to be working so far:
“One thing I appreciate about this process is, it’s not heavy handed. It’s just [about] changing behaviors. One thing that I’ve observed and been very excited about is just the celebration of the kids that are in school.”
Every Day Matters Specialist Bonni Booth works with the locals schools and students, helping with their different rewards and goals.
