EOU’s Kaylee Hoskins Tabbed NAIA Second-Team All-American

LA GRANDE – (Release from Eastern Oregon University) The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced the 2022-23 Softball All-America teams as selected by the NAIA-Softball Coaches’ Association All-America Committee. Eastern Oregon University, who finished the season ranked No. 24 in the nation had one player make the list, standout pitcher, Kaylie Hoskins.

“The recognition just keeps coming and we could not be more proud,” Head Coach Nicole Christian said. “Not only was she one of the top pitchers in our conference, she’s proven to be one of the best in the nation.”

Hoskins is EOU Softball’s first All-American since 2005. That year it was EOU’s Vanessa Shelton who earned the honor.

Hoskins was one of the most dominant pitchers in EOU and CCC history this season. The sophomore set the single-season strikeout record for the program and the conference finishing with 310.  As a transfer Hoskins won Newcomer of the Year as well. In 30 appearances (27 starts), Hoskins recorded 18 wins, 310 strikeouts and a 1.13 ERA in a conference that had three competitors ranked inside the top-10 nationally. She was named First Team All-Conference (CCC) and First Team All-Region (NFCA) for her work in the circle.

As the leading arm for the Mounties, Hoskins helped propel EOU to a 33-19 regular season record (19-11 in conference). Eastern finished the year with a fourth-place finish in the CCC tournament. The Lake Stevens, Washington native will look to lead the Mounties once again in 2024.
