EOU’s Kayla Hoskins Picks Up Second CCC Pitcher of the Week Award

LA GRANDE – (Release from Eastern Oregon University) The Cascade Collegiate Conference announced this week’s Athlete of the Week Awards presented by Rize Laboratories on Monday afternoon. Eastern Oregon’s Kaylie Hoskins was named the softball Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season.
“Kaylie had an excellent outing against a very good lineup,” Head Coach Nicole Christian said. “Our defense played well behind her.”
Hoskins had three strong outings in the circle this week picking up a couple wins with a 0.72 ERA. Through 19 innings, the sophomore had 26 strikeouts and tossed two shutouts. Her only two allowed runs on the week were given up in a tough battle with No. 10 Southern Oregon University on Saturday. She battled back the next day tossing her second shutout helping lead the Mounties to their lone win over the Raiders last weekend.
Hoskins and the Mountaineers will return to action Friday at 1 p.m. when they play the first game of a four-game series against British Columbia on the road.
