EOU’s Austin Gerding & Elliot Marks Named CSC Academic All-Disrict

LA GRANDE – (Release from Eastern Oregon University) College Sports Communicators (former known as College Sports Information Directors of America) announced the 2022-23 Academic All-District Baseball and Softball Teams on Tuesday. Eastern Oregon University had a pair of selections in seniors Austin Gerding and Elliot Marks.
The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes baseball and softball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. Players are selected based on a combined body of work in the classroom and on the field.
Gerding was a staple in the outfield all year for the Mounties playing in 31 games. The senior was second on the team in home runs and tallied 24 hits on the season. Marks appeared in 23 games for the Mounties before sustaining a season ending injury. He was a key backstop for the Mounties primarily catching and playing some first base.
