LA GRANDE – (Release from Eastern Oregon University) The NAIA released the results of the third Women’s Wrestling Coaches’ Top 20 Poll of the 2022-23 season Thursday morning. Eastern Oregon University slipped back a couple spots from 11 to 13 in the latest poll.
Eastern hasn’t competed since the last poll so the slight slip in the rankings comes from strong performances in other programs. The Mountaineers were one of four Cascade Collegiate Conference teams ranked in the top 20 this go around. Southern Oregon led the way at No. 1 followed by Menlo and Providence tied at No. 5.
Coming in at No. 13 as a team, EOU also had six individuals earn top-25 rankings in their weight classes. All ranked individuals are listed below.
INDIVIDUAL RANKINGS:
WEIGHT | RANK | WRESTLER |
109 | 10 | Stephanie Blankenship |
130 | 5 | Kaylee Moore |
136 | 11 | Morgan Shines |
136 | 2 | Erin Redford |
143 | 15 | Liv Wieber |
170 | 2 | Olivia Robinson |
EOU will be back in action Sunday, Jan. 8 as they travel to McMinnville, Ore to compete in the Linfield Open.
