EOU Women’s Volleyball Climbs to No.2 in National Rankings

LA GRANDE – (Release from Eastern Oregon University) The Mountaineers have claimed the No. 2 spot in the latest NAIA Women’s Volleyball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll. The NAIA released the second poll of the season Wednesday morning, Sept. 14. Eastern, previously ranked No. 7, jumped five spots to No. 2.

“I am proud of our team for what they have accomplished so far this season and for getting recognized for it,” Coach Kaki McLean Morehead said. “Now it’s time to get back to work and continue to grow.”

EOU is currently on a 12-game winning streak and haven’t dropped a match since their loss in the season opener. In 13 games this season, the Mounties have played seven ranked opponents, winning six of those matchups. Eastern remains undefeated in conference play after their victory over the College of Idaho on Tuesday, Sept. 13.The Mountaineers will return to action Friday, Sept. 16,  when they take on Warner Pacific at 7 p.m. in Quinn Coliseum.
