EOU welcomes 10 signees on National Signing Day

LA GRANDE – Eastern Oregon University Mountaineers Football and Head Coach Tim Camp are excited to announce the 2021 recruiting class. The group is made up of 10 true freshmen that signed National Letters of Intent to play at EOU. This class will join the Mounties in the fall of 2021.
 
Of the 10 recruits, five hail from the state of Oregon. Three are from Washington, while the final two are from Nevada and Idaho. Speaking about the 2021 class, Mountaineers Head Football Coach Tim Camp said, “Our number one priority in this unique year was recruiting our locker room, and taking care of the guys we already have on this roster. With that being said, we could not be more excited for the 2021 signing class. We were specific in recruiting addressing team needs, and making sure we bring in Eastern Oregon Kind of Guys. The 2021 signing class is full of size, talent, and academically motivated young men. The average GPA of our 2021 signing class is right around 3.50.”

Hayden Bass

Bass comes to EOU from Sheldon High School in Eugene where he was a multiple-year letterwinner under Coach Josh Line. He helped guide his team to a pair of Conference Championships in 2018 and 2019. In 2018, he helped lead his team to a Runner-Up finish in the OSAA State Championship game. Bass brings size and strength as he posted the lifting numbers as follows: Bench- 275 lbs., Squat- 450 lbs., Power Clean- 275 lbs., Deadlift- 511 lbs. he has a 40-yard dash time of 5.56 and a vertical of 21 inches.
 
Coach Camp on Bass: “Hayden is a big powerful young man and has the athleticism to play multiple positions on the line of scrimmage.”

Caden Beazley

Beazley was a three-year letterwinner at Manson High School under Coach Joey Johanson. He was a two-way player at Running Back and Linebacker. He was a First Team All-League selection at Running Back as well as at Linebacker in one season. In his junior season, Beazley rushed for 1,350 yards and had a total yardage of 1,685. He also competed in basketball and baseball for three seasons, respectively, and was a letterwinner all three years for both sports.
 
Coach Camp on Beazley: “Caden is a very versatile football player who does a lot of different things well and has a passion for the game.”

Trey Darden

Darden is another two-way player that comes to the Mountaineers. He was a multiple-year letterwinner under Coach Jack Henderson at Dufur High School. In his junior season in 2019, Darden garnered Second Team All-State honors at defensive line. He helped guide his squad to back-to-back OSAA State Championships (2017, 2018). He was also an Honorable Mention All-State selection at Tight End. Darden also competed and lettered all four years of high school. He was a Second Team All-League selection one season.
 
Coach Camp on Darden: “Trey is a hard-working local Eastern Oregon product with tremendous upside and versatility as a football player.”

Anthony Peterson

Peterson will join the Mounties from the state of Nevada where he played at Albert M. Lowry High School. He was a three-sport athlete competing in football, wrestling, and track & field. On the gridiron, Peterson was a two-time All-League selection at Running Back in 2019 and 2020. Peterson was also a three-time Academic All-State selection for football (2018, 2019, 2020). As a wrestler, he was a State Champion in 2019 and 2020, to go along with three Academic All-State selections (2018-2020). He lettered in track for the 2019 season.
 
Coach Camp on Peterson: “Anthony is a true running back with the quickness and elusiveness to make guys miss, and the power to run through tacklers.”

Ramsey Hering

Hering is another in-state product who played his high school football at Banks High School under Coach Cole Linehan. He was a three-year varsity letterwinner and helped his team win an OSAA 4A State Championship in 2018. In 2019, his team was the 4A State Runner Up in the OSAA State Playoffs. He also competed and lettered in wrestling for three-seasons. He was also an All-state wrestler in one season. Academically, he holds a cumulative GPA of 3.93.
 
Coach Camp on Hering: “Ramsey is a weight room fanatic. He immediately adds size and strength to our defensive line, and has shown huge growth from his Junior season.”

Tyler Exline

Exline joins high school teammate Hering in coming to EOU from Banks High School. He was a three-year varsity letterwinner under Coach Cole Linehan. In his sophomore season, he was an Honorable Mention All-State selection after garnering Second Team All-League honors. Tyler helped his team win an OSAA 4A State Championship in 2018. In 2019, his team was the 4A State Runner Up in the OSAA State Playoffs. He also competed and lettered in basketball for two seasons.
 
Coach Camp on Exline: “Tyler is a dynamic athlete with the unique combination of size, speed, and power, and can play multiple positions on the Defensive Line.”

Tristan Lee

Lee is another two-way skill position player that comes to EOU from Mazama High School. Under Coach Vic Lease he was a three-year varsity letterwinner. He was named the Skyline Conference Offensive Player of the Year one season and earned Honorable Mention All-State honors at Quarterback and Defensive Back. Lee was also a First Team All-Conference selection at Quarterback and Defensive Back. He led the Skyline Conference in touchdowns thrown in his junior season. Tristan helped guide Mazama to three Skyline Conference Championships. He also competed and lettered in basketball and track & field.
 
Coach Camp on Lee: “Tristan has great knowledge of the game from the Quarterback position, and athletically will compete with anybody.”

Eti Ena Jr.

Ena Jr. comes to the Mountaineers from Cheney High School where he played under Bobby Byrd. He was a three-year varsity letterwinner and was named Honorable Mention All-Conference in one season. Ena Jr. also competed in track & field for three seasons, and lettered each season.
 
Coach Camp on Ena Jr.: “I’ve known Eti since he was a little kid. Eti is a high motor football player and one of the more fundamentally sound High School football players I’ve seen.”

Max Prazer

Prazer played his high school football at Eastmont High School under Coach Mike Don. He his a three-year letterwinner and has been a Team Captain in his final two seasons. Prazer was named First Team All-League as a junior and was named the League’s Best defensive Lineman. He also garnered Honorable Mention All-league honors as a sophomore. Max helped his team win League Championships in 2018 and 2019. Max also competed and lettered in wrestling for three seasons. He placed fifth at the State Championships in his junior season.
 
Coach Camp on Prazer: “Max is a football junkie and a true competitor. He is an extremely violent football player with a high football IQ.”

Tanner Nett

Nett will be a two-sport athlete at EOU as he is committed to play football and compete in track & field. He played football under Jason Burton at Borah High School and was a multiple-year letterwinner. He was a two-time All-State selection, earning First Team honors as a junior and Second Team accolades as a senior. He was also a two-time All-Conference selection in his junior and senior season. He also competed and lettered in basketball and track & field. He was part of back-to-back State Championship basketball teams. In track & field, he was an All-State selection in the shot put in 2019. Academically, Nett has received All-Academic honors all four years of high school.
