LA GRANDE – (Information provided by EOU Athletics) The NAIA has announced its 2020-21 Scholar Team recipients along with the Daktronics Scholar-Athlete selections for the 2021 National Awards Day. Eastern Oregon University had 14 teams make the list along with 52 students garnering Scholar-Athlete honors.
Leading the way in Scholar Team honors was Mountaineers Volleyball who had a cumulative GPA of 3.64 for the 2020-21 academic year. Posting the second highest GPA was women’s basketball at 3.56. The third highest GPA overall went to softball with a 3.41. Leading the way for the men’s teams was cross country with a 3.33 cumulative GPA
Also earning Scholar Team honors were women’s soccer (3.33), men’s indoor and outdoor track & field (3.31), men’s basketball (3.30), football (3.26), women’s indoor and outdoor track & field (3.21), men’s wrestling (3.19), women’s cross country (3.17), and men’s soccer (3.10)
Men’s Cross Country/Track & Field had the most Daktronics Scholar-Athlete selections with 11. Tallying the second most was football at 10. Women’s Cross Country/Track & Field had the third most selections with eight making the list. The full list of student-athletes that received Daktronics Scholar-Athlete honors is below.
