LA GRANDE – (Information provided by EOU Athletics) Eastern Oregon University Athletics has announced that concessions and hospitality dining will no longer be available at home events, effective immediately, due to the rise in COVID-19 cases.
This procedure is being put in place to make sure that EOU is still able to allow fans to home games for the remainder of the 2021-22 academic year. At the time of release, there are no limits on fan attendance, but masks are still required.
“As tough as this decision is for us to make, it is the best possible route we are going to take so that we can still allow fans to games,” Director of Athletics Anji Weissenfluh said. “We want to mitigate the spread of COVID and this option allows our fans to still come and watch the student-athletes compete.”
Spectators that attend the remaining home basketball games will be allowed to leave in between the women’s and men’s games to go eat/drink. To get back into the game, fans just need to hold onto their tickets and present them again to the ticket booth upon re-entry of Quinn Coliseum. As a reminder, no outside food or drink is allowed inside Quinn Coliseum at all.
The CCC requires the use of face coverings be worn correctly (over mouth AND nose) for indoor competitions by spectators. This measure is imperative to reduce the spread of COVID-19. Fans are encouraged to maintain social distancing standards while in attendance at all EOU athletic events.
Spectators that attend athletic competitions are required to wear a mask at all times. Failure to comply with conference or institutional attendance policies will result in removal from venue and any further EOU and CCC contests.
