EOU Athletics announces spectator policy for home events

LA GRANDE – Eastern Oregon University Athletics has announced that going forward for all home sporting events, both indoor and outdoor, fans will be required to properly wear a mask. At the time of release, this decision is effective immediately and will be monitored on a week-by-week basis.

The decision comes after new mandates were put out by EOU, the state of Oregon, as well as the Cascade Collegiate Conference. All three protocols require that spectators wear masks for all indoor events, as well as a recent announcement by the State of Oregon mandating masks for outdoor events effective Friday, Aug. 27. Please note that these policies are subject to change at any time.

The CCC and EOU will follow the state of Oregon’s decision and require fans to wear masks at all outdoor sporting events. This decision by EOU will also go into effect for football as the Frontier Conference is allowing its member schools to handle masking requirements. Fans must wear a mask properly (over mouth AND nose) when attending all EOU athletic events.

EOU Athletics wants to do its part to protect not only student-athletes and coaches, but also the campus community and beyond. For more information, fans can view the EOU spectator policy by clicking the link above or going to www.eousports.com/spectator.
