PENDLETON – Oregon State Police Lt. Karl Farber expressed his gratitude to Elkhorn Media Group for playing a major role in locating Clint Scott Brown, 72, of Enterprise Monday, May 29. Farber also thanked all those involved in the search effort for Brown, who was reported to suffer from Alzheimer’s and dementia. He was reported missing the day before.
OSP troopers located Brown’s vehicle at the Deadman Pass rest area westbound and rescue efforts shifted into high gear. The Volatus Group’s Ammarae Broncheau and Tyson Barfuss; Dylan Buzbee, Rob Knochenhauer, Joseph Clement, and Larry Leovan of Censys Technologies; and Dazon Sigo of Cayuse Native Solutions provided UAS/drone support. K9 units were on the scene and in spite of the Memorial Day holiday, Umatilla County Search and Rescue, Union County Search and Rescue, and the Enterprise Police Department sent personnel to aid OSP.
A massive search was launched within hours of finding the car. Then, Farber notified Elkhorn Media Group, which published a blast on its four Facebook pages. Within an hour of the post, a couple went for a drive and found Brown.
“Local citizens Christina and Robert Bowman noticed the missing person bulletin on social media and located the subject near FS 3680 and U.S. 30,” Farber stated. “He was found walking – confused and disoriented – but was uninjured.”
Brown was transported and then released to a friend by OSP. He, his dogs, and his vehicle were returned to Enterprise that night.
