GRANT COUNTY – Grant County Emergency Management Coordinator Eric Bush was on KJDY’s Coffee Time speaking on fire season. Bush explained the role in his office during an emergency wildfire situation:
“One of our responsibilities, particularly at the Sheriff’s Office—the Sheriff is responsible for ordering evacuations if they are necessary. So, that’s something that we have to be really in the hip pocket of whoever is managing that particular fire, to understand the fire’s behavior, where it’s going, what it might look like. And make sure that anybody who might be out there is out of the way.”
