WALLA WALLA – Walla Walla’s animal control officer has found a new home for Elvis Pigsley that offers expert care. The pig and Lupa the husky were taken to the Blue Mountain Humane Society after begin found by police in a hot car at the golf course. Both animals were evaluated, and Officer Sallie McCullough worked for weeks with the humane society, animal care experts and the woman who owns both the pig and the dog.

“Officer McCullough stated that the female owner was cooperative and surrendered Elvis so they could find further care and a home that could accommodate him and his medical issues,” Public Information Officer Gunner Fulmer wrote.

On Tuesday, McCullough and a staff member from BMHS transported Elvis to an 85-acre medical care and rehabilitation center on the west side of the state. It’s reported that Elvis enjoyed the trip, snacking on romaine lettuce and playing with his favorite toy.

Lupa underwent a full exam, updated medical care, and vaccinations that were paid for by her owner who then reclaimed the husky.
