Elgin School District welcomes Karla Head as its new superintendent

ELGIN – (Release from the Elgin School District) Elgin School District welcomes Karla Head to the District. Ms. Head will take over the position of Superintendent and Jr./Sr. High School Principal in the Elgin School District. Karla comes to the District with a vast expanse of experience in education and looks forward to leading the team in Elgin, in supporting our students and educational leaders as well as providing educational opportunities for the students in the District.
Ms. Head comes to the District from Palmer, Alaska. She has a background in teaching mathematics for over 20 years, coaching athletics, and administration. Karla brings experience in a multitude of educational areas, including experience in a variety of differing cultural backgrounds and extracurricular opportunities, all of which will support the students and staff in the Elgin School District. She is excited to further advance existing programs, provide additional opportunities for student and teacher growth, and become an integral part of the community in Elgin.
