ELGIN – (Release from the Elgin Lions Club) “We broke our record on number of entries with over 100 vehicles registered for Riverfest,” commented chair Steve Oliver. Sunshine streamed down on the numerous entries in motorcycles and antique tractors as well. The Lions sold out early for tickets on the Duck Race with the seven winners: 1st Tim Booleu, 2nd Kait Bonnie, 3rd Colleen McDonald, 4th Bob Reiter, 5th Doreen Baker, 6th Kennedy Neicher, and 7th Cindy Knate.
The Duck Train kept moving “down the tracks” with engineers Jim Baker and Jim Way. Other busy spots included a BINGO booth, cake walk, pine cone throw, corn hole toss and an information booth on local Lion history and events. Under the chair of Kate Botger, flyers were placed around the businesses where visitors could find treasures at local yard sales.
Vendors lined the outside of the field as well as inside the fence. Special music was shared from 9:00-1:00 by the Old Time Fiddlers.
