ELGIN, OR – (Information provided by the Elgin School District) The Vegas Shoot 2022 was amazing and so was Kloe Ray King! There were over 3000 archers, 50 countries, 100 vendors, and thousands of spectators at this tournament. Being the largest archery tournament in the world, it was a ton of pressure for this small town girl! Even small tournaments can be overwhelming for her simply because of the number of people in her space so Vegas was a challenge walking around, let alone the tournament. She managed her nerves better than she ever has and it showed. She also had a personal best on Saturday with a 291/300 and an overall score of 573/600.

Kloe placed 2nd out of 40 in her Compound Female Cub division and her combined scores beat all but one of the 30 or so Compound Male Cub divisions. During the award ceremony, she was called out in front of thousands for her 2nd place medal and a $750 scholarship.

We are so proud of her good attitude under all this pressure and her ability to focus when it counts, all while doing something she loves. It was great for her to be able to see her archery idols in person and how they handle themselves under pressure. She has some ideas for new goals to keep moving forward and progressing with her skills and is ready to get started.
