ELGIN – Not everyone may be familiar with the Elgin Lions Club, but their iconic yellow vests are hard to miss at the Elgin Opera House, where they frequently serve as ushers. The lions recently continued this long-standing duty by ushering for the Elgin Opera House’s production of Dare to Dream. A release from the Elgin Lions on the recent production is as follows:
The Elgin Lions continued their project of ushering for Elgin Opera House productions, with the latest of “Dare to Dream.” The production involved scores of youth singing, dancing, and celebrating 100 years of Disney Magic. The play was a collective celebration of hope, imagination and the power of dreams!
The director, Terry Hale, had the youth attentive to every number and the students produced a very memorable play for attendees. The group sang such Disney songs as “Friend Like Me,” You’ve Got a Friend in Me,” and “When You Wish Upon a Star.”
