ELGIN – (Release from the Elgin Lions Club) An in-house auction, consisting of items made by the Lion members, netted $1737.00 for the club. Members feasted on finger foods prepared by the Lions and then began bidding on items from nuts to bed quilts. Lions Susie Harris, PCC Steve Oliver and Daryl Hawes kept the items moving through encouragement and ridicule, with a lot of laughter from the group.

Under the chairmanship of Daryl Hawes, the Lions constructed a new float for the Light Parade, consisting of reindeer on each of the duck cars. Following the parade, Elgin Lions then hosted a chili feed at the Stampede grounds for the community, which was well attended.
