ELGIN โ (Release from the Elgin Lions Club) Since there has been a loss in funding for the CASA program, Lion Miki Martin requested funds to support its activities. The Board met and agreed to increase the clubโs gold member support for a total of $750.
Lion Mary Hopkins reported on the Multiple District Convention that the club had a good representation and donated more โBoard Booksโ for expecting Native American mothers than all the other clubs combined. Barbara Hawes added that the breakout sessions were very interesting and had value for the participating members.
Jared Rogers reported that Keven Johnson had asked if the Lions would cook and serve on June 16th for the annual football camp. Lions agreed to support the project.
President Pat McDonald presented Ann Warren a membership key award from Lions International for recruiting two new members.
Doreen Baker reported that a resident wants to put a free seed exchange box next to the Lionsโ Community Garden. The club voted to provide $50 to help get the seed exchange program started.
The club tailtwister, Shanna Arbogast, entertained the group with members receiving cards down. The two members having the โjokersโ had to hold the card on their foreheads as they were awarded a nice prize.
