ELGIN โ€“ (Release from Elgin Parks and Recreation District) Just one year ago, the Elgin Community Center was facing a significant operational challenge. Each rainstorm or heavy snowfall brought leaking ceilings, buckets scattered across the floor, constant clean-up, and uncertainty about whether scheduled community events could continue.

Today, that challenge is officially behind them.

Thanks to the successful completion of the 2025 Roof Repair Project, the Elgin Community Center is now dry, safe, and fully operational โ€” regardless of what the weather brings. The long-needed repairs ensure the building can continue serving as a reliable gathering place for meetings, celebrations, programs, and community events for years to come.

โ€œWe are incredibly grateful for the overwhelming support that made this possible.โ€ said Tomi Boolen with Elgin Parks & Recreation District.

The project was funded through the generosity of local organizations, businesses, and community members. In recognition of their contributions, a permanent donor plaque has been installed inside the Center to honor those who helped safeguard this important community hub. The plaque was handcrafted and generously donated by Brock Eckstein.
