WALLOWA CO. – (Information from Elbow Creek Fire Officials) The Elbow Creek Fire remains stable, and mop-up operations have continued to be successful. Thus, command of the fire has been transferred back to the local units, U.S. Forest Service – Umatilla National Forest and Oregon Department of Forestry – Northeast Oregon District, as of 8:00 a.m. yesterday morning.
The fire is now under patrol status and operations have been split into the north and south division. Both divisions will have resources assigned, including hand crews and engines.
