NORTHEAST OREGON – The Oregon High School Rodeo Association State Championships concluded with a strong showing from students hailing from Eastern Oregon. The event, held at the Crook County Fairgrounds, showcased the best young rodeo talent from across the state. Some of the champions will now represent Oregon at the National High School Rodeo Finals in Rock Springs, Wyoming from July 14-20th Here are the highlights from local participants:
Bareback Riding:
Frankie Beam of Prairie City secured 2nd place with 70 points
Bull Riding:
Steven Davidson from Unity achieved 3rd place with 60 points.
Steer Wrestling:
Kale Williamson from Elgin finished 4th with 66 points, followed by Kale Cornell of Burns in 6th place with 53 points.
Saddle Bronc Riding:
Brycen Martin of Hereford captured 3rd place with 85 points.
Team Roping:
In the headers category, Hanley Miller from Enterprise ranked 5th with 130 points.
For the heelers, Krece Moore of Hereford dominated with 1st place, scoring 220 points. Cody Siegner from Crane secured 3rd place with 164 points, while Degan Patton of Pendleton followed closely in 6th place with 124 points.
Tie Down Roping:
Hanley Miller continued his success, earning 1st place with 119 points.
Cody Siegner of Crane achieved 2nd place with 90 points, and Parker Deal from Imbler finished 8th with 57 points.
Pole Bending:
Bailey McCracken from John Day secured 1st place with 102 points.
Georgia Lieuallen of Pendleton achieved 2nd place with 98 points, followed by Reagan Martin from Hereford in 4th/5th place with 72 points.
Barrel Racing:
Georgia Lieuallen also excelled in barrel racing, securing 3rd place with 81 points. Bailey McCracken continued to showcase her versatility, earning 4th place with 76 points.
All-Around Titles:
Brycen Martin of Hereford was recognized as the Boys Reserve All-Around Champion.
