EASTERN OREGON — Sheriffs and deputies from counties across eastern Oregon will join others in law enforcement to pay respects and remember one of their own.
Hundreds of law enforcement officials are expected to attend the memorial service for fallen Ada County Deputy Tobin Bolter on Tuesday, April 30 in Boise.
Deputy Bolter was shot and killed during a traffic stop on Saturday, April 20. The suspect, 65-year-old Dennis Mulqueen of Boise, was later tracked down and shot and killed by Boise Police. Mulqueen had a warrant for his arrest the night Deputy Bolter pulled him over near Overland Road and Raymond Street in Boise.
The Sheriff’s of Malheur and Union counties confirmed they will be attending Bolter’s funeral on Tuesday.
“It’s the right thing to do,” said Union County Sheriff Cody Bowen.
Deputy Bolter’s memorial service will be held on Tuesday at 2:00pm Pacific Time at the Ford Idaho Center in Nampa. The indoor service is reserved for the 27-year-old Bolter’s family, friends, law enforcement and law enforcement families and will be closed to the general public.
The community can also watch the service from home via livestream on the Ada County Sheriff’s Office YouTube channel.
A procession featuring hundreds of law enforcement vehicles will begin in Eagle at 11:30am Pacific Time.
