LA GRANDE – The 2021 summer construction season in eastern Oregon is almost in the rearview mirror. The majority of our projects to fix pavement, sidewalks, and bridges are nearing completion. We have a handful of projects still in progress with work extending into October.
Several chip seal projects are mostly complete with the exception of striping:
– OR 78: New Princeton, milepost 37.65, to Virginia Valley Road, milepost 47.23.
– OR 78: Broadway Avenue in Burns at milepost zero to milepost 11.15.
– U.S. 95-S: From the junction with OR 201, milepost 11.65, to the Oregon/Idaho border at Annex, milepost 13.66.
Work continues on these extensive projects:
– I-84: Meacham to Spring Creek Resurface.
– OR 82: Grande Ronde (South Elgin) Bridge repair.
ADA upgrade projects continue in the following locations:
– Union County, with ongoing work in Elgin and Island City.
– Malheur County, with ongoing work in Vale and Nyssa.
– Wallowa County, with ongoing work in Enterprise.
– Umatilla County, with work in Hermiston and Stanfield, (watch for permanent traffic pattern changes/lane reconfiguration in Stanfield).
Please remember to watch for crews, equipment and flaggers, and to be prepared to slow down or stop when you see those orange cones and construction signs.
