Eastern Oregon City Cleanup Day Schedules

EASTERN OREGON – It’s time for spring cleaning. Towns from across the tri-county area are planning local cleanup days this April and May. Note that some schedules have not been publicly listed or confirmed at the time of writing. We will update this page with additional information as schedules are released and cities confirm that they plan to host a cleanup day. Schedules by city, along with other available information are listed below:

La Grande:

  • April 22 from 9:00 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • Volunteers should sign up using the link below and should report to the Main Street Office at 102 Depot Street to be dispatched to a cleaning team on the day of the event.

  • Volunteers will be involved in various activities such as:
    • Weeding
    • Washing windows
    • Sweeping sidewalks
    • Removing any debris off downtown sidewalks.
  • Several downtown merchants will be accepting donations and allowing disposal of household items during this weekend.

Island City:

  • April 22 from 9:00 a.m. to 12 p.m. (Same as La Grande)

Union:

  • May 6 from 9:00 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Meeting at 410 Treatment Plant Road
  • Items not accepted:
    • Household Garbage
    • Hazardous Waste 
    • Shingles
    • Ashes
    • Batteries

North Powder:

  • April 22 from 8:00 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Dumpsters are located at the brush pile below 2nd Street.
  • Small load-based fee for dumping.
  • Items not accepted:
    • Oil
    • Ashes
    • Household garbage

Elgin:

  • Not yet available

Cove:

  • Cleanup day has been postponed until Fall. Fall dates have not been set.
  • The city will be scheduling dates for accepting brush and tree limbs this spring and summer.
  • Cove citizens may call Cove City Hall for dates and instructions.

Baker City:

Enterprise:

  • May 6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. or until dumpsters are full.
  • Meet at Enterprise Public Works Shop 905 Golf Course Rd.
  • Items not accepted:
    • Animal Waste 
    • Tires 
    • Batteries 
    • TV or Electronics

Wallowa:

  • April 22 from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • 8:30 a.m. kickoff at the Shell Merc Bldg.
  • Lunch for volunteers all day.
  • Dumpster located at City Shop Yard (202 E 4th Street)
  • Items not accepted:
    • Kitchen garbage
    • Tires
    • Hazardous materials
  • Collection stations available for:
    • Dumpster for landfill
    • Compostable yard debris
    • Scrap metal
    • Burn-pile material
  • Call 541-886-3140 to schedule curbside debris pickup or vehicle/trailer tow away.
