EASTERN OREGON – The 4th of July and America’s 250th anniversary is almost here. Soon, the streets will be filled with barbecues and camp chairs, and the skies lit up with fireworks! For anyone looking to get in on some patriotic festivities this weekend, the following are some of the more notable 4th of July events and activities coming up in Oregon’s four easternmost counties:

Wallowa County

Shake the Lake 4th of July fireworks Show
- Fireworks launched from Wallowa Lake, beginning at 10:00 p.m.
- Cale Moon Concert, 7:00 p.m. -9:00 p.m.

Fourth of July in Wallowa
- Breakfast and Restoration Progress Open House
  - 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Wallowa Community Legion Hall
- Photo Backdrops
  - 10: a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Wallowa Mountain Properties satellite location, 212 East First Street.
- City Parade, 11:00 a.m.
- Wallowa Fire Department Barbecue (after the parade)
- Fire Stories Exhibit at Wallowa History Center
  - 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
  - 602 W 1st St.
- American 250 Birthday Cake Contest
  - Patriotic cake baking contest, hosted by Wallow Mainstreet Committee
  - Drop off cakes at 8:00 a.m., award ceremony at 10:00 a.m.

Union County

Thunder at the Peak Fireworks Show
- Vendors, food, and fireworks at Buffalo Peak Golf Course
- 5:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m., fireworks start at
- 1224 E Fulton Street, Union.
- Fireworks begin at dusk
- Free public transit to and from La Grande and Union City Park provided by Northeast Oregon Public Transit.
  - Pickup begins at 6:30 p.m. Union County Senior Center, 1504 North Albany Street, La Grande.

4th of July in Imbler
- Imbler Fire Department’s Pancake Breakfast
  - 7:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
  - Imbler Elementary School Gym
- Music by Frank Carlson

Sumpter Red White and Blue Parade

- Rooster Crow Contest at noon

Ontario Fireworks Show

Ontario Volunteer Firefighters Association 4th of July Open House & BBQ

Vale 4th of July Rodeo final day
