FRANKLIN COUNTY – Rabo AgriFinance, headquartered in St. Louis,  has filed suit in U.S. Federal Court asking it foreclose on large onion and potato packing and storage facilities in Basin City and Pasco. Those properties went into default shortly after the patriarch of Easterday Farms died in December.

Rabo AgriFinance said the companies’ $1 million line of credit is accruing interest at approximately $580 a day.

One of the Easterday family, Cody, has entered a guilty plea in a court action alleging that he charged Tyson Foods for cows that didn’t exist. The family also is the most recent owner of the mega-dairy in Boardman that had been shut down for environmental violations when it operated as Lost Valley Farms.

The most recent lawsuit is against 3E Properties, Karen Easterday, Debbie and Cody Easterday, and Jody Easterday. The suit states that Easterday Farms could not be included as a defendant because it had filed a voluntary bankruptcy petition in February.
