PENDLETON – Numerous efforts to clean up communities are being held during Earth Month this year. One will be happening along the Umatilla River Parkway in Pendleton and volunteers just have to show up and sign in at Stillman Park on April 25 to lend a hand.

People can register at 9 a.m. and the effort is expected to last until noon. The 2.5-mile parkway will be cleaned, including walking paths, the levee, and riverbanks. Stillman Park is at the intersection of Southeast Byers Avenue and Southeast Fourth Street.

Participants are asked to wear closed-toe shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. They should also bring a backpack. Bringing personal tools and a reusable water bottle are also helpful. Restrooms are available at Stillman Park and also at Roy Raley Park to the west. Volunteers should park across the street from the park’s picnic shelter in the parking lot on the west side of Southeast First Street.

All ages are welcome. Those who wish to sign in before the event can go to https://volunteer.solve.org/opportunity/a0CVL00003km6be/umatilla-river-cleanup-pendleton-2026 to register as individuals or as a team.
