MILTON-FREEWATER, Oregon – The Milton-Freewater Unified School District has named Aaron Duff as its new superintendent.
Duff has spent the past 14 years with the district, starting as an agricultural sciences teacher. He jump-started the high school’s FFA program in his first year at McLoughlin High School. Duff later was promoted to be the elementary building principal, and more recently becoming the district’s business and operations manager.
Having attended elementary school in Pendleton and Helix, Duff graduated from high school in Hillsboro. He earned a master’s degree in education from Oregon State University and earned his continuing administrative license from Lewis & Clark College. Duff is married with three children, all who are enrolled in Milton-Freewater schools.
Duff tells KTEL News he’s excited to get to work. He begins the job in early July, replacing Rob Clark who accepted the interim superintendent position for the Sequim School District.
“I want to keep the momentum going,” Duff said. “We have a great administrative team, great teachers and staff.”
He said he plans to continue working on updating the district’s facilities, improve instruction and offer more college courses. He also applauded the district for having a great graduation rate.
