Drunk semi-truck driver arrested driving the wrong way in Baker County

BAKER COUNTY – On the evening of Monday, January 20, 2025, the Oregon State Police arrested 33-year-old Darrick Moody of Chesapeake Virginia for drunkenly driving a commercial motor vehicle the wrong way down I-84. The traffic stop occurred around 9:20 p.m. along I-84 westbound near milepost 321. The full OSP description of the report and arrest, as provided in a recent OSP press log, is as follows:

From OSP:

“OSP received a report of a commercial motor vehicle traveling the wrong direction on Interstate 84. The reports stated the semi was driving east bound in the westbound lanes from mile post 317 to 321. A Trooper located the truck and trailer parked on the westbound shoulder facing eastbound near mile post 321. The Trooper contacted the driver and observed signs of impairment. The driver voluntarily consented to field sobriety tests where further signs of impairment were observed. 

The driver was taken into custody and later provided a breath sample of 0.10% BAC. The vehicle was towed from the scene. The driver was lodged at the Baker County Jail for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants, Reckless Driving, and Reckless Endangering Another Person.”
