Drug Free Run at Buffalo Peak Golf Course October 8

UNION, OR – (Information from the Union County Safe Communities Coalition) The Union County Safe Communities Coalition will be hosting the 25th annual Drug Free Run event at the Buffalo Peak Golf Course this weekend.

Formerly the Drug Free Relay, the Drug Free Run serves as a fundraiser to support various efforts in preventing youth substance abuse. As stated on the Drug Free Run Information page, funds will go towards:

  • Supporting community projects selected by the Union County Safe Communities Coalition (UCSCC) to impact youth substance use.
  • Support the UCSC Youth Council for prevention activities in local schools and communities.
  • Support events that target changes in community awareness regarding youth substance use prevention.

This year’s run will consist of a 5k rout hosted at the Buffalo Peak Golf Course in Union, October 8. Online pre-registration is recommended, though same day in-person registration will be possible. Registration fees cover event T-shirts. Registration costs are as follows:

5k Registration

  • $25 For adults
  • $10 For youth 12 and under
  • $30 For adults on race day
  • $15 For youth 12 and under on race day

Fun run/walk registration (T-shirt not included)

  • $5 For all
  • 7$ On race day for all.
