Driver eludes WSP, crashes into canal near Prosser

BENTON COUNTY, Washington – No major injuries were reported when a driver eluding law enforcement crashed his pickup into a canal near Prosser on Saturday.
The Washington State Patrol attempted to stop Nicholas A. Corley, 31, from the Yakima area as he drove just under 100 miles per hour through an active construction zone on Interstate 82.
Corley drove off the highway, through a field and into the Chandler Canal, just north of the Yakima River Bridge.
Deputies from the Benton County Sheriff’s Office assisted WSP in finding and apprehending Corley.
No major injuries were reported and Corley was booked into the Benton County Jail by WSP.
