Drill work important for local fire departments

LA GRANDE – The La Grande Rural Fire Protection District (LGRFPD) Wednesday night joint drill this week with the City of City of La Grande Fire Department focused on rescuing an injured firefighter. According to LGRFPD, “The Rapid Invention Team is a minimum of two people sent into a fire to retrieve a downed firefighter. Swapping out equipment to give the injured party oxygen, and dragging them to safety was the main focus.”
