WALLA WALLA – Starting Monday, June 24, the downtown Walla Walla area will undergo parking stall striping modifications to improve accessibility. The striping work will last two weeks and will be done weather permitting.

Main Street alterations are scheduled between June 30 to July 5, starting at Palouse Street working west towards Fourth Avenue. Work will be completed between 11:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. with single lane and block closures. Full block closures to all traffic will be in place from 11:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
The revised parking location will improve ADA curb ramp accessibility for community members with disabilities. ADA vehicle lifts are predominantly configured with access from the passenger side. Modified parking locations will effectively accommodate ADA vehicle lifts to face the sidewalk and will allow for passengers to more easily access curb ramps. With the parking plan, the total number of stalls in the downtown Walla Walla area remains unaffected.
