BAKER CITY – “Take what you need, leave what you can”  The Baker County Safe Communities Coalition is reminding citizens in and around Baker City of a “Sharing Pantry” located in the Eagles Parking lot at 2936 H St.  This sharing pantry is a great way to help those in food disparity.

While donations of unexpired items are always appreciated, there are some items that the Sharing Pantry is looking for more than others. Such as

The basics:

•Meals in a can (stew, chili, soup)

•Tune and canned meat

•Peanut Butter

•Canned foods with pop-top lids

•Low-sugar cereals

•100% fruit juice in single serving boxes

•Canned fruit packed in juice

•Canned vegetables (low salt)

Additional kid-friendly options:

•Pop-top tuna

•100% fruit rolls

•Raisins

•Graham crackers

•Unsweetened applesauce

•Cheese and crackers

•Fruit cups

•Pretzels

•Granola bars (without peanuts)

The Baker County Safe Communities Coalition reminds those donating that there are some folks without running water or a can opener, so tab open cans are much appreciated.
